WORCESTER -- As the major-league rosters expand with the calendar changing to September, WooSox catcher Connor Wong is doing everything possible to make his case for why the Red Sox should give one of those extra roster spots to him.
Wong has been one of the most consistent WooSox hitters this season (and for much of 2021 as well), but lately, he’s gone on an absolute tear at the plate. The power has shown up in Wong’s game; he leads the International League with nine home runs in August, despite missing the first 12 days of the month as he recovered from a wrist injury that he sustained when he was hit by a pitch on July 29 in Buffalo.
