Listed with Bring a Trailer, this iconic classic sports car has been beautifully restored and cared for and has just 60,000 miles on the clock.

There is no doubt that the Jaguar E-Type is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. Its graceful lines, chrome accents and sporty handling help to make the E-Type one of the best grand tourers ever made. And at auction, these cars are of course highly desirable. Especially in Series I form.

Dubbed the XKE in North America, this wonderful 1966 Series I E-Type/XKE is up for grabs on Bring a Trailer, offering a chance to own one of the world’s most beautiful cars.

This particular XKE, the listing states, had a single owner from 1978 to 2014, and was also listed on Bring a Trailer back in March 2020. The car underwent a full refurbishment in August 2019 that saw its numbers-matching engine and transmission undergo a full rebuild.

The XKE is in a gorgeous Carmen Red, its original factory shade, and it had a repaint into this color during the refurbishment. The bodywork is immaculate, having had a refresh to address uneven panels and the previous use of filler, with a weld repair correcting an old antenna hole.

The listing also states that the front frame, firewall, underside, and inside of the bonnet underwent a repaint during the car’s refurbishment. The wire-spoke 15-inch wheels only go to add to the classic 1960s E-Type look, and the side angle shows just how special this car is. The classic E-Type lines still take our breath away. The interior of the car is stunning, with the seats in fresh black leather and the interior featuring a color-coordinated dashboard pad, rear cargo area trim, carpeting, and door panels.

The center console was also fabricated and accented in aluminum, with matching aluminum accents on the dashboard fascia. The car has a smaller-diameter, wood-rimmed steering wheel and for a modern touch, there is a Blaupunkt radio in the upper console, although the listing says this does not work.

Under the hood of the XKE is a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six engine which also had a rebuild during the refurbishment, and this is numbers-matching too. For its transmission, the XKE has a four-speed manual. This amazing car has just 60,000 miles on the clock and will make whoever buys it very happy indeed.
