Several yellow weather warnings are in place for our region today
Storm Barra is set to hit the UK today, bringing heavy rain, snow and winds of up to 70mph.
The deep area of low pressure, which is moving in from the Atlantic, will travel over Northern Ireland before hitting the North West.
Three yellow weather warnings are in place for Greater Manchester - for wind, snow and ice.
A yellow warning of wind is in place for the whole region from 9am until midnight - with warnings that the weather could impact travel and cause damage to trees.

A yellow warning of snow is also in place from 11am until midnight for parts of Rochdale, Oldham and Tameside.
The Met Office has also issued a warning for ice, which lasts until 9am today.
Travel disruption is expected throughout the day, especially over higher routes.
The weather conditions has seen Chill Factore shut after a section of its roof blew off in high winds.
The Lightwaves Festival has also been forced to cancel again due to the incoming storm.
Delays are also predicted on some train and bus routes, and there may be power cuts in some areas.

Fire crews remain in attendance at Chill Factore as Storm Barra causes roof damage.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At around 1pm today, firefighters were called to Chill Factore on Trafford Way after reports that the roof had been damaged.
“One fire engine from Eccles and tactical response units from Leigh and Tameside attended the scene. Firefighters used a ladder and other specialist equipment to assess the damage and make the area safe.
"Fire crews remain in attendance at this time.”
The Met Office said it is likely that Barra will not be as bad as Arwen, its predecessor, but that disruption to the travel network is likely, with snow and heavy rain in some areas until Wednesday.
Met Office spokeswoman Nicky Maxey said: “We are not expecting the impacts of Barra to be as bad as we saw with Arwen.
“Storm Barra will bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to many parts of the UK today.
“It is unlikely to be as impactful as Storm Arwen last week but there will be blustery conditions so people should still be prepared.”

Organisers of The Lightwaves Festival at Salford Quays have been forced to pull the plug for another night - due to Storm Barra sweeping across the region.
The free event has been beset by problems since high winds and torrential rain swept the Quays at the weekend, which forced a cancellation on Saturday night.
The event's centrepiece, the huge Floating Earth sculpture, had to be powered off and "sunk" on Saturday - and has remained temporarily closed due to the miserable weather ever since.

In a statement on its website, Chill Factore has said: "The Beyond building has sustained some damage due to the severe winds. As a result we’ve made the difficult decision to close our building and surrounding car parks with immediate effect to protect the health and safety of our guests and team.
"All activities for the remainder of the day have been cancelled and we are in the process of contacting guests with bookings for today to rearrange their activities.
"We are awaiting contractors to come and assess the damage and we will provide more information as soon as possible through our website & social media accounts."
